Vision
With the accumulated experience achieved in eco-friendly business over the years, SMS is focusing on the development, design, and construction of small and medium-sized ships powered by hydrogen or batteries. A number of researchers are devoting themselves to research and development with the goal of developing, certifying, and producing commercialized marine fuel cell systems and battery propulsion system packages while pursuing collaboration with related professional companies at home and abroad.
Forming a consortium of specialized companies including domestic repair shipyards, SMS is taking the lead in preparing for the future conversion projects to convert conventional propulsion systems into eco-friendly fuel propulsion ones in the range of mid- to large-sized ships. SMS already acquired four (4) classification AIPs for the basic design of LNG DF propulsion ship conversion, and methanol DF propulsion ship conversion engineering is also under development.
SMS already has extensive experience in SOx scrubber retrofitting engineering and turnkey services for various type of ships, and provides a variety of technical services and solutions for global shipping vessels in operation.
